Log WhatsApp messages to Google Sheets
A simple, useful automation: every message your number receives becomes a row in a sheet your team can filter and share.
Steps
- 1Start with a webhook trigger in your tool (Make Custom webhook, n8n Flow API Trigger, or Zapier New Incoming WhatsApp Message).
- 2Put its address in your number's Webhook URL setting (the n8n and Zapier triggers do this for you).
- 3Add a Google Sheets "Add a row" step.
- 4Map senderData.senderName, senderData.chatId, messageData.textMessageData.textMessage and timestamp.
Fields you get
{
"typeWebhook": "incomingMessageReceived",
"timestamp": 1791819789,
"senderData": { "chatId": "972501234567@c.us", "senderName": "Dana" },
"messageData": { "typeMessage": "textMessage", "textMessageData": { "textMessage": "Hi!" } }
